I went in to work today with the intention of informing the Coffee Fairy on my tea leaf reading.
I was so busy with work yesterday I didn’t get the chance to pop up and fill her in, but today was the day. She needed to know.
I walked up and there was she was on the phone. We had a lot of calls today, immediately I knew this would be difficult.
Before long the calls stopped and she leaned forward and said ‘I’m dying to know, what did the tea leaf reader say!’
I stared in with the man of significance and went from there.
I made it to the prediction of 65 days and the golden arches. She said ‘oooh that sounds exciting! what does it mean?’
I laughed ‘I have no idea?? Is it McDonald’s??’ Someone please help me here!!
Then I told her I counted the days and it lands on the last day of March, which just happens to be opening day for the St. Louis Cardinals.
It is a game I have wanted to go to for my entire life, but I always seem to forget about it. But not this year. I am bound and determined to go.
I had already looked at tickets, but hadn’t bought any yet. I mentioned all of this to the Coffee Fairy and she said ‘isn’t there an arch in St. Louis?’
‘Holy crap!’ how did I miss that?!
That is the golden arches.. it has to be! I have no idea what it means but I am happy to know I finally figured it out, well the Coffee Fairy figured it out.
I got back to my desk after the show and immediately got to work. The game was sold out but I must get tickets!
I hit the usual site, but it came up empty. Crap! Google… yes that’s the way to get tickets.
I ran across another site full with tickets but they were pricey but I didn’t care.
I needed to get them before they sold out there too. I did a few quick searches and placed my order. I can’t believe I’m actually going to Opening Day!
It’s a time honored tradition, steeped in the rich history of my favorite team. It really is a dream come true. It will be just me and 45 thousand of my friends watching my team… our team… take to the field for the first time.
I wanted to shout it from the rooftops, but telling everyone I could find at work would have to do.
If I passed someone wearing a red shirt… they knew. Someone walked past my desk who knew I was a big fan, I stopped them and talked about it for a good 5 minutes.
I was happy! I might as well have been dancing around the building. As if going wouldn’t be enough of a trip… adding in the golden arches prediction has made it a double whammy.
I am so freakin’ excited I can hardly wait the 8 weeks to get there!
