Why is it getting ready for the vacation makes you not want to take one?
The work involved to get ahead, and make sure no one notices your gone is enough to drive you crazy and not want to take the time off at all.
Sadly, after doing that amount of work you really want the time off.
This is a short trip, I don’t know what I will do if I actually take more than a week off to go to Italy. There’s no way I can get that far ahead without working myself into the grave! Which kind of negates the whole trip.
But it must be done because that is the nature of the job.
About 4 p.m. Sunshine asked if I was packed and ready for my trip… oh crap! I’ve been so busy doing everything else the reality of the trip hadn’t even hit me?!
Uh ‘no’… was the response.
On the way home I realized I don’t have my transportation to the airport figured out. I work very close to the airport and typically I can find someone to take me.
Tomorrow however I’m flying out at 7:50 a.m. and that means no one is there to take me. Sure I could just park there and call the cab, but who wants to call a cab? Certainly not me!
I started racking my brain, trying to think of someone who would be up, moving and able to drive me at 6:30 a.m. and my mind immediately went to the Encourager.
Bingo! I have a ride to the airport, all I have to do is pick up Starbucks and make it to work by 630 a.m.
So here I sit once again procrastinating the drudgery of packing, while sipping on a Skinny Girl Margarita laced with Pama liquor for a little sweetness.
I have decided I’m going to try to pack from the couch, while I’m watching tv. I’m compiling a list of the wardrobe essentials I will need to take with me.
Since I don’t plan on doing much more than just hanging out at my parents house, that pretty much consists of t-shirts and jeans. Actually… long sleeve t-shirts and jeans because it’s going to be cold…. 54 degrees… brrrrr!
Cardinals Opening Day here I come!!
