I had a rough night, where I never fully entered a deep sleep which always leads to a long day.
It was one of those days where I felt like everything was moving in slow motion. My brain wouldn’t engage and the minutes passed like hours.
When I finally managed to make it to work I realized I had a few things to write for todays show… perfect.
My brain was blank, I couldn’t even form a coherent thought, let alone a sentence all I could hope for was to get something… anything on paper just to keep the commercials from bumping together.
In the midst of it all I realized I had more work to do today because the other show’s producer was out again and it was my day to cover for her.
Did I say perfect? The day was shaping up to be a doozy.
It was so bad I decided not to go to the baseball game because I was so tired. My team is in town and I even bought tickets but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. Now that’s a first!!!
I have a sneaking suspicion I hadn’t just seen them 10 days ago I probably would have sucked it up and gone but that was not the case.
I was happy to trade in my stadium seat for a place on my comfy couch and the option of weaving my naps in and out of the innings.
It sounded just as good to me.
