Day 33: The magical crock pot

Another quiet night at home, but I have something to look forward to tonight.
I made my first crock pot meal today, green chile pork.
Before I left for work this morning I put it all in the pot and turned it on low.
It almost seemed too unscientific for me, I need measurements not throw a little of this and a little of that so I had no idea what to expect… but I was hoping it would be good.
By the time I made it to work I was both excited and nervous about the magic that was going to happen while I was gone.
I don’t trust the electrical in my home, so what if the crock pot causes a short and burns my house down?  As I explained to my director what I put in the pot she seemed slightly concerned about the amount of water I added.
My next concern went to the overflow factor.  I did a quick informal survey and everyone said they thought I’d be ok so I took a breath and went on with my day.
When I got home and opened the door the smell was delicious!  I instantly got excited!  I couldn’t wait to see what the magic pot had created for me.
The butcher at the grocery store did not steer me wrong, he did however steer me to 3 pounds of meat and I have no idea what I’m going to do with all of it.
I made some shredded pork tacos, and blended the sauce into a salsa of sorts and sat down at the coffee table for dinner.
For once, I ate before I fed the cats and the meal was tasty.
I do believe there will be more of the magic crock pot in my life from this point going forward, in fact I can’t believe I made it this far in my life without using it!

Looks yummy. Go to the local library and pick up a book called “Fix It and Forget It”. I can’t wait to try making a cake in my crock pot.
